McLaren's Celebratory Roar at the 2023 Monterey Car Week
Get ready to celebrate! McLaren's 60th anniversary is upon us and what better way to commemorate it than by showcasing our glorious past and breathtaking present at the 2023 Monterey Car Week!
Let's start by introducing McLaren's newest marvel, the 750S Spider. The 750S Spider boasts a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, packing a hefty punch with 740bhp and 590lb-ft of torque. What's more, it leaves its competitors eating dust, weighing in at an impressive 425lbs lighter. Think rapid acceleration and heart-stopping power - we're talking 0-60mph in just 2.7 seconds! We also have the first customer model of our show-stopping Solus GT making its debut here.
Remember the hypercar that turned heads last year? The Solus GT is back and better than ever. Inspired by the virtual world of Gran Turismo SPORT, this track-only stunner has been brought to life. With only 25 models being built, it's an exclusive work of art powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. The Solus GT promises riveting performance with 0-60mph in less than 2.5 seconds and a top speed of over 200mph!
The Solus GT isn't just a pretty face - it’s a champion. This speed demon clinched victory at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, leaving spectators in awe with a jaw-dropping 45.342 second run up the 1.16-mile course.
We're also honoring McLaren's rich racing legacy at the event. Keep an eye out for the 1970 McLaren M8D Can-Am car, the first McLaren F1 car, the M2B, the 1973 McLaren M16C IndyCar, a 1974 McLaren M23 F1 car, and the iconic 1992 McLaren MP4-7A. Each of these cars carries a piece of McLaren's illustrious history.
Rounding out our display is the current year’s MCL60. It's the same one raced by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship.
Enjoy the 60th anniversary of McLaren with the thrilling performance that has become synonymous with our name. McLaren’s future is just as bright as its past, and we're thrilled to share it with you.
So rev your engines, McLaren fans. We're just getting started!
